Srotapanna

(Sanskrit) "Stream-winner, stream-enterer." In Pail, the term is sotāpanna. A term used by the Buddha Shakyamuni when he described four levels or degrees of attainment. Srotapanna is the first degree. In Sutrayana (Foundational Path) of Buddhism, srotapanna is understood in a exoteric manner and each school has its own way of applying the term. In esotericism, srotapanna is very specific: it refers to those who have completed the first degree of Major Mysteries, the first of the seven serpents of Kundalini / Candali.
